In Praise of Imperfect Reproduction
Once music, images, video or any other communications are digitized, they can be copied perfectly, infinitely, and instantaneously. I believe that there is much to be said for the imperfect, long-handed copy. The splicing of parents' genes, the manually pressed plate, and the exaggerated story all create rather than merely copying. I want to celebrate randomness in reproduction, be it through human error or failing technology.
